Eemax was established in 1988 with a line of tankless water heaters for commercial applications ranging in size from .5gpm to about 1.5gpm. The original Eemax technology was patented and quickly emerged as themost flexible technology on the market. Eemax’s first product, the 9.5 kW Flow Control, was developed in 1989 as a simple on/off device for handwashing applications. In 2000, Eemax introduced a line of residential products so consumers could enjoy the benefits of tankless water heating. Over the last ten years Eemax has established a leadership position in the residential market to complement its commercial business. In 2003, Eemax further enhanced its position of the dominant supplier for commercial applications with the introduction of its patented Series Six and Series Twelve family of high capacity water heaters. These products are designed for commercial and industrial applications from 6 to 25+ gpm. In addition, there are models within this product category specifically designed for point-of-use emergency safety equipment applications, including safety eye, face and shower systems. Eemax was purchased by the private equity firm Riverside, in 2008. Giving Eemax the capability to expand its product breadth and hold on the marketplace. In 2010 Eemax came out with a ASSE 1070 approved electric tankless water heater called Accumix. This products is designed to Turnkey Solution Heater with Code Compliant Integrated Mixing Valve Designed specifically to meet UPC 413.1 code requirements for hand washing single and multi-lav applications.2012 marked an expansion for Eemax as the company moved to Waterbury CT. The new location was doublein size at about 35,000 square feet. In 2013 Eemax merges with the retail manufacturer Ecosmart.
